How AI Is Shaping Product Photography?
There’s been a lot of buzz lately about whether product photography might be replaced by AI. With so many platforms claiming to offer quick and easy content solutions, it’s understandable why this worry exists. Rather than worrying about it, I decided to dive in and see how AI could complement and enhance what I’m passionate about.I started asking myself: How can I mix AI with product photography and still make it look real? With tools like MidJourney, it’s possible to create beautiful, imaginative digital environments. When paired with traditional photography, retouching, and compositing, the results can be stunning.
The image below is one of my first attempts at blending AI-generated backgrounds with my photography. It features a bottle of Freixenet Mionetto USA Prosecco, styled in a sunny picnic scene. I used MidJourney to create the digital environment, photographed the product, and then brought it all together using Photoshop.
This experiment isn’t about replacing photography but it is about expanding what’s possible. By combining AI innovation with a photographer’s eye, we can create visuals that are not only unique but also tell compelling stories. What do you think?
